>look everyone! I'm only 15 but I'm a real contrarian!
in after pablo honey
Putting his wheezing, sputtering 76 year old voice aside, the poor bastard probably didn't even know who Cyndi Lauper and Bono were.
>recorded strictly to meet a contractual requirement
>high out of his mind on cocaine the whole time
>needed surgery on his vocal cords shortly afterwards
I think this was his legitimate rock bottom, even worse than Victim of Love (also recorded only for contractual reasons).

fuck off, montie
Discounting the zombie albums from Psycho Circus onward, worst Kiss record was this 42 minutes' worth of wannabe Bon Jovi pop rock.

hendry's dream is top5 shithead
Murder Ballads, The Boatman's Call easily worse than nocturama
tender prey has what, 3, 4 good songs? nocturama does too but I leave that down to preference
from her to eternity and the firstborn is dead just have "raw era" cred and aren't particularly better than nocturama either
and let love in is pretty close, I currently rate it above nocturama but the more I listen to the former the less I like it and it's the other way around with the latter

this was the only anco album i could tolerate

>>65050993
I like King of Limbs better
>>65051091
Bridges To Babylon is the worst. That's the nearest thing there is to a completely pointless Stones album that has no reason to exist.

>album title is an unfunny joke how we're old and washed up
Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die.

Murder ballads worse than nocturama, uhu yea sure...
i can understand The boatman's call being one of his lesser albums so i agree there, however from her to eternity isn't even comparable to nocturama.
Let love in is pretty close ? it's his best record to date, nocturama may grow on you and therefor is less tiresome i get that, but talking purely musically all of the one's you mentioned don't even compare to nocturama.
I get it tho, it's his kind off "overlooked" LP and liking something under appreciated always gives you hipster cred, that doesn't mean nocturama isn't a low in nick's career compared to all his other work.

>Murder ballads worse than nocturama, uhu yea sure..
murder ballads has 3 good songs (song of joy, stagger lee and o'malley's bar), the rest ranges from songs that are simply pleasant because it's more nick cave to actually horrible (kylie duet, pj duet). In fact 2 out of 3 of the "good" songs are pretty much meme-tier and they don't hold the same significance other masterpieces do like easy money or the good son
let love in his best ever?
not even funny
nocturama is by no means a "low" in his career, it's just an album that a large portion of his fanbase didn't get, because frankly they never got cave to begin with, so when he grows as a person and a musician it's only natural that some of his fans will be weirded out and think it is out of place
in my opinions the double LP and Lazarus are two of his best albums and you can trace a lot of the elements that appear on those albums back to nocturama
it signals a new age for nick cave, it's like another childhood, where no more shall we part was the -impeccable- dying breath of the middle portion of his career
>>65052135
that's not Goo
>>65052092
Push the sky away and lazarus is transition done right, nocturama is the unstable middle passage that didn't hit any real pressure points that all his other records did.
Nocturama is nick cave stuck in limbo, and frankly that's why it's quite obvious as to why people didn't welcome it at first, "not understanding it" is such a cliche argument...
People did "get it", saying oh you didn't get it is just another way of saying, it didn't hit the mark with most people but hey i like it so they must be wrong.

holy fuck, stop posting dadrock.
>>65052333
you know what's an even more cliche argument?
appeal to popularity
anyway, all I said is that it's far from his worst, and I'm willing to debate this further if I have to
and is push the sky away really a transition? I don't see a link between it and lazarus, whereas there's still remnants of boatman's call and NMSWP all over nocturama inbetween the new elements we'd see in AB/LoO and lazarus
>>65052625
Define 'dadrock'.
>>65049915
That's their best album desu.
>>65054069
I guess I should rephrase that, is my favorite of their albums.
