No. It's noise pop, some of which has overlaps with shoegaze, but not this album.
no. it's standard-fare slacker indie. it's by no means a bad album, but it's not shoegaze.
maybe you saw someone dismiss Swirlies as simply being "basic alternative rock" and you thought this meant pavement could be shoegaze. they're not.

Definitely not. The guitars sound a bit shoegazey on some songs only because the recording quality is so shitty.

how is the quality "so shitty". You can tell this was in a studio and not in like some dudes basement. I mean its definitely lofi but no more shitty than like early modest mouse.
