Exmilitary is the only album of theirs I don't like, I just couldn't get into it no matter how hard I tried.

TPTB is the overall best

wow these threads are cancerous and nobody even has a decent order resembling an objective view. nice.
>>
>>65013555
go ahead and give us that "objective "view" bub
>>
>>65013569
well, there's no right answer obviously and my opinion isn't any better than anyone elses. but everyone has such a compulsion to seem edgy with their rankings, like saying NoTM is their best and TPTB is their worst, is just an annoying concept. people need to reevaluate themselves around here.

but mine would probably be this
ExM>TPTB>GP>TMS>NLDW>>BP>NoTM>FW
>>
>>65013654
>"this is cancerous, stop being edgy"
>posts ranking

Also NoTM is TPTB??

I like these threads because they give perspective on what others think. More than likely, I'll consider at least one's opinion, go back and relisten to one of the albums. It's not necessarily "My Rank Right, Your Opinion Wrong"
>>
NOTM > Exmillitary > Money Store > NLDW > Government Plates > Jenny Death

I haven't liked a album by then since the money store

but i have to admit BP is actually pretty good
>>

>>
>>65013857
i was just saying that because i disagreed with most of the rankings. dg threads are fine, there's just tons of people with obvious needs to seem eccentric with their rankings... and yeah i meant JD not TPTB.

maybe it's interesting to see perspectives, i've seen some crazy explanations of why NoTM was someone's favorite, recently. and i just can't wrap my head around how people like it over their other releases, it's just self indulgence to seem deep, imo... but yeah, opinions.

You can tell who are the newfag bandwagon kids when they don't put ExM at the top of their order.

If you weren't around for the crazy hype when ExM dropped and how it broke musical boundaries, your perspective invalid.

it breaks far less musical boundaries that NotM did mate
it's just punk rap, and while that is still a fairly novel thing it's not exactly pushing boundaries, it's adapting them by combining the attitudes of two different genres
>>
>>65014310
This. It took me like 4 listens to get into Exmilitary when it came out, but once I got it, it's been my favorite DG release since. And it's just good aggressive music to pump you up. I can't listen to it and not punch someone.

Government Plates has got to be the most underrated DG release. The cohesiveness of every track with respect to the album as a whole is so good, I would go as far as saying it is a concept album.

my ranking

GP > ExM > NLDW > TMS > NOTM > JD >>>>> anything else released

Death Grips would have been better off breaking up for reals after Jenny Death
>>
ExMilitary > BP > TMS = NLDW > JD > NOTM

GP somewhere below BP
>>
How is exm so many peoples favorite? I like the mixtape but it's so unpolished and easily has the most duds of all their releases.
>>
>>65018023
Maybe one dud. That album is a winner.
>>
Every time I watch Pulp Fiction, that scene at the 50s diner, that sample from Spread Eagle plays and I always hear it in my head
>>
NLDW > NOTM > BP > TMS > JD > Exmil
>>
>>65018023
Well yeah compared to now. I guess it's more common a favorite for people who heard it when it came out.
For me, it was something else. It took me a few listens but damn it was something new.
>>
>>65014212
I still really like Exmil but I never get how people put it on top, it's their most under developed release.

The Powers That B is by far their best album. Niggas on the Moon is the obvious choice for their best work, and Jenny Death is extremely underrated: Inanimate Sensation, The Powers That B and On GP are all some of Death Grips' best songs. There is no bad or even mediocre track, Beyond Alive and Centuries of Damn are massive growers and Death Grips 2.0 was a great way to end their largest effort yet.

All tracks on The Money Store are catchy and fun. The same could be said about Exmilitary, with the possible exception of Known for It.

Bottomless Pit has many great tracks, for example the first three, Three Bedrooms in a Good Neighborhood, Ring a Bell and the title track. The album does drag on somewhat around the middle though.

The majority of songs from No Love Deep Web are great, the opener Come up and get me being one of their best. However, the album is let down by tracks like Whammy and Pop.

Government Plates consists of six main tracks and five more instrumental pieces. The main tracks are all great, - especially Whatever I want, their best song yet in my opinion - though they are let down by the repetition of the five others. All of the interlude tracks have had their first halves copied and pasted, and while it's always good material being repeated, I wish there was some more variation.

Fashion Week is criminally underrated, some real highlights. Interview 2016 blows everything on it out of the water however, Interviews B and D being the standouts.
