what this anon says is true. i have a pair of pic related. they're amaingly comfy, they work well, and they attentuate sound pretty much evenly across the whole frequency spectrum so it sounds good and intelligible and bright, just not painful.

Bruv I've been to concerts and not worn earplugs and been to concerts where I DID wear earplugs and the music sounds far more clear when wearing ear plugs.

While yes you're technically muffling the sound by sticking stuff in your ears it still sounds better compared to the ridiculous onslaught of noise you get at most live shows. They turn up so fucking loud that everything sounds like it's clipping and your ears are literally being damaged every moment.
>>
>>65011657
You literal faggot,

Your condom reference isn't even a decent analogy to what I am saying

I find that those kind of earplugs, like hear-o's are overkill. I just like to take earbud tips like this and fill them with a bit of rolled up paper towel. Works really well, and doesn't sound muffled.

>>65011381
When exposed to such loud music, your ears will naturally roll off the treble after not too long. So the same thing happens, only in this case it's likely to cause hearing damage.

Literally going to be the same story for everyone in this thread arguing against ear plugs.

Sure there are a select few out there who are lucky to have genetically superior ears and could go to loud shows their whole life and not get serious tinnitus. But I'd bet 70%-80% of people going to loud shows would get tinnitus by age 50 if they never wore earplugs.

I'm sick of hearing my friends complaining about the ringing in ears after concerts. Just get the damn earplugs already! At least get the cheap ones at drug store. You don't have to stuff them all the way up in.
I went to see Neurosis and people actually complained that it was too loud.

I went to Jucifer concert and forget the earplugs. That seemed suicidal.

I actually used the cheap ones before I got the professional ones. I cut them halfway off and didn't stuffed them all the way in. But yeah, get the decent ones. They aren't so expensive if we are talking about your health. They also cancels the noise so you can hear the music better.

honestly having ear plugs at shows is a normal fucking thing and most of you people are feigning this because you'd be too embarrassed to wear them yourself
half the people at punk shows wear plugs. only dumb high schoolers dont for the sake of image and they pay for it
>>
Say I use some of the earplugs posted in this thread. How well do they stay in? I'm usually pretty physical in the pit and I wouldn't them to fall out every 5 seconds or lose them.
>>
>>65015786
they stay in alright the only issue is sweat.

my ety's get loose sometimes and people's arms may hit it by accident but its worth it/
foams stay in better id say
>>
>>65015786
i had a problem with getting so sweaty that one would keep slipping out of my ear but it was only that ear so maybe i just got a weird ear actually now that i think about it im positive one of my ears is a bit lower than the other

though i only really had that happen to me once. you should be good as long as its in somewhat tightly(BUT NOT TOO TIGHT DINGUS)

i have more problems losing them when i take them out to talk to people
>>
>>65015765

>>
>>65015871
>>65015786
If earplugs are falling out they're not in deep enough.

I never have problems with earplugs and I wear them mowing the lawn, when sleeping, and when I'm at shows.
>>
My dad has had tinnitus for probably a decade now. I'm 27 and my hearing is good only because of seeing his daily pain. He's tried everything. Loud noises make him tense up in pain, but otherwise he just deals with it. Fortunately, he doesn't have it as badly as some. Most people that have tinnitus bad enough just kill themselves.

I always wear ear protection. It's the cheap shit you get at a gas station, but anything is better than nothing. You do not want tinnitus. I'd rather be deaf or blind honestly.
>>
>>65015980
If one of them wasn't Sunn O))), you have no place to speak. I was close to the front and it was extremely loud.

Tinnitus isn't a meme, you sound like an idiot saying that
>>
>>65015765
>too embarrassed to wear them yourself
Can't imagine how the world looks like from the eyes of these people. It must be hard.
I started to use earplugs when I started to play drums with a band on my late teenage years. Now I can't imagine how could I play without ear protection. Not only it's harsh for my ears but I can't hear everything properly in the noise. Same thing for the concerts.

>>65015980
And what concerts usually are those and how far are you from stage?
Anyway, how can you deny other people's experience like ''there is no noise, there is no too loud, there is no ringing after!''? And why it is so important to convince people that these problems that they are experiencing aren't real? You don't experience any of these problems and you are good without the plugs, that's good! Nov move on with your life.
>>
Yeah maybe tinnitus specifically isn't real but I've been going to low end theory a lot lately and pretty much just standing next to the speakers each time. I don't have ringing but definitely it feels like my ears lost a little sensitivity in the higher frequencies, and earphones settings on the loudest don't feel as loud or defined as they used to. Wouldn't hurt to wear ear protection.

>>
>>65016282
As I said before, my dad has had it for 10 years. He was a farmer around loud equipment all in his 20s. One day the ringing stopped and never quit. Just because you stand near speakers and aren't experiencing anything now doesn't mean you won't when you hit your late 30s or 40s.

I hope like FUCK I never get it. I'd off myself.
>>
>>65016282
its more of an over time thing than a one time thing too
>>
>>65016282
Tinnitus is definitely real. There's no set amount of noise or loudness that guarantees someone will get tinnitus. Your ears don't have some kind of meter that will warn you when you're about to do damage, so you should wear hearing protection.
>>
>>65011773
