I won't even bait but this album is absolutely amazing. Kacey's voice resonates well with a polishly produced instrumentals that still sound very organic even for a mainstream pop-country album. Her melodies, whilst simple, are in indeed very enjoyable as her accompanied lyrics tackle personal issues as well as paint a small town on a dusty canvas, surrounded by its backwards views.
Also "Merry Go Round" is a god-tier country song and you're a pleb if you disagree

It's still a bit overly poppy/tweet at times, but this album really impressed me. It sounds good and the lyrics are clever. It's not afraid to be more "real" than the vast majority of mainstream country, which is why it got so much critical acclaim -- she has a unique voice (in terms of what she talks about, not her literal singing voice).
Thought Pageant Material was disappointing, though.
