sadly most of this album (and that's mostly Brendan's half) seems thrown together and uninspired. like the tone is great, but they didn't spend the time fleshing out the ideas and constructing full songs with notable melodic moments.
Just Another Face, Wedding Singer, and Hiding are the only ones that actually seem like Modern Baseball songs.
Nevertheless i'm seeing them this summer, and I have hopes that they'll correct this stuff in future releases

I really liked the idea of making it half Jake half Brendan and how they blend the two parts in Coding This To Lukens. The transition between Holy Ghost and Wedding singer is really cool. Most songs are kinda lackluster but there are some good examples in progression of style from the band. I would say Hiding and Everyday are my favourite tracks, especially hiding, but I still only listened to it once

I know I felt really excited to get out of high school because I felt like I was so above it all but now that i'm done with 2 years of college I feel pretty nostalgic for it because it was when I felt like I knew everybody and everybody knew me, whereas in College you are surrounded by strangers constantly

The fact that I am surrounded by strangers is actually the thing I like more about college. High school was just a microcosm where making new friends was impossible after a certain point, when all the social groups were set and you got to the point where knowing everyone at least barely made everyone much less interesting. Now there's so much variety in the people I hang out with, I like it a lot.

I'm just not a sentimental person, I don't really feel as if I gain anything from going. I'm sort of indifferent about being done with HS, it was such a clusterfuck and I hope college will be better. Besides, my parents wouldn't even be able to go (mom fatigued from chemo) so it'd be kind of depressing.

this is album is a solid 10/10, fucking flawless start to finish, the rest of their small discography is just as good too
saw them live a week ago and they were definitely one of the best bands ive ever seen, such a fun show, was able to shake the singers hand and get a setlist
