Dominoes:
Drums are way too quiet and weak, plus the cymbals sound really cheap, mainly the crash. Band doesnt sound all too tight either. Gets slightly off at times. The idea is there, generic and a bit boring but its enjoyable if you're into that sound. Plus the vocals sound like youre singing to sound like a certain style, ya know? it doesnt feel genuine to me. a bit long for how good the song is too: 4/10
Slow Days
Immediately this sounds better. More full, band is playing better and tighter. Tones are richer and smoother and the drums have a great strength and air to them. Vocals fir so much better here too. A very pretty song but stilla bit boring, it doesnt really get to anything, but thats just my personal taste. Good song. 7/10
>>64750161
dont like the artwork. listening to opener, the guitar tone is really frail sounding, not much power behind it and it has a velcro tone that doesnt work on its own. Not to mention the riff is pretty lackluster. Drums sound way too sequenced for this style of music in my opinion. Don't like the vocals either. Eh, not feeling this, its very repetitive, which would be fine if you had a good riff here but i do not think you do. bass is too quiet too. Yeah the whole song was that one riff. not very enjoyable. write some new riffs, eq/mix better, get a thicker and fuller guitar tone, and smooth over your lead playing. it sounds very robotic to my ear
3/10

Do you listen to metal?
>>64751081
sure do! used to listen to it more, but i find myself listening to it still every now and then. Was big on High on Fire, Electric Wizard, Sleep, Melvins, Boris, Gojira, Candlemass, Witchfinder General and shit like that. Still listen to them all relatively frequently. Been getting into more soul and funk as of late though. But in my opinion, the riff is boring and uninspired sounding. If you like it thats great and all that really matters! im just here to offer some suggestions
>>64750149
listened to hi and the featured track. Hi, in my opinion was awful, but i see the appeal. I just hate surf rock but you do it as well as anyone. Your featured track however i very much enjoyed. My only complaint is that it is so lo fi, and i get that that is your gimmick but youre riding a thin line. Id try to clean up the production a bit man. You seem like a pretty talented guitar player and singer which is being buried under all the poor recording quality

Some people do, I know it's not exactly accessible (hence the experimental tag) so I really can't be all that defensive.
Just a shitty Line 6 Spider Jam amp, a USB condenser mic and FL drums/synths (occasionally my Yamaha keyboard for strings and whatnot)
>>64751645
yeah that'd explain the tone. Invest in a tube amp and make sure you are playing through good speakers. They make a huge difference. get a shure sm57 as well. and a blue icicle.
>>64751304
lofi til i die :(
>>64751860
damn. I'd like to hear your stuff cleaned up a bit. Really all this lo fi stuff is getting annoying, to me at least. it seems like people are doing it just to garner attention and to fit this hip little niche market. it also buries the fact if your bad. or youre allowed to be bad at writing songs and playing your instrument because "lofi dood, its supposed to be that way". But, i dont think you fall into that category because you have talent, i can hear that. would just like to hear it cleaned up is all

Also, NEW LARKSBURG COMING OUT NEXT FRIDAY. It's the only Larksburg album to date recorded as a four piece that's been waiting to come out since last summer. It features sounds of post-punk, progressive rock, psych-pop, and more. When it comes out I'm going to be sharing it a lot in these threads ;)
I (Brett) and maybe one or two other members from the four piece group, are going to be on Sacramento State's campus radio program KSSU at 6pm, California time tomorrow. You can listen to us talk about the new album and debut a track from it on KSSU.com. Just hit the 'live stream' option when you get there.

Recently just made this one hour album. My inspirations for my musical style comes from Tobacco, music from Hotline Miami and Devin Townsend Project (?).
I hope this just isn't trash as this album has been in the works just till recently, and I decided to add the tracks I made with an older version of FL studio and Cool Edit Pro.

Thanks. Marilyn Manson is so far down my list of influences I'm aware of that I don't even think about it anymore, but it's interesting that that's what you heard out of it anyway.
Neat, little hit and miss from the sheer harshness in spots, fun Dylan impression, the experimental/field recording/spoken word parts are pretty cool and similar to a side project I'm working on. Hopefully you'll be around to hear it. The more obvious meme samples ("There is nothing", etc.) probably aren't necessary in the future though. Kinda done to death. /x/ approved in general though.
>>64760861
Thanks for the feedback! We had no idea what direction we were going with this album. Also i'll be sure to look out for that side project.
