its not about agreeing with them or not, the reviews themselves are actually really shitty if you've been watching them for a while. He completely misses the mark in almost every one of his hip hop reviews, he has a clear subjective bias against artists based on qualities completely unrelated to their musical output. His "review" of the music just consists of empty unsubstantial buzzwords to describe the music ("sonically" "rattling hi hats" "creeping base" or whatever the fuck he says) He adds almost nothing of value to the conversation surrounding a work of music and he still uses a numerical rating system.

I think Fantano has a pretty decent opinion on music, it obviously isnt gospel. I just like the way he presents his reviews and his opinions in a very articulate way. I respect the mans effort on his work as he clearly cares about his job. He can come off douchey at times, which is kinda something most reviewers do, though Fantano seems rather humbled at times with the whole "I'm a regular guy". He gives shine to albums that he likes just to give them some attention, even though they wont give him the most views. He doesn't seem to have a bias towards the artists he reviews, the fact lana del rey went from like a 2 to a 7 solidifies this for me. And to be honest if there was a guy to almsot represent /mu/ Id be more than fine with it being Fantano.
His opinions arent the gospel, but they are well thought out which I appreciate.

Tinker Tailor is still my favorite on the album and everyone seems to think its mediocre. Im not trying to be a snowflake i promise. but he didn't focus enough on the production and subtle overall instrumental work on most tracks
he also completely avoided talking about identikit, one of the best tracks on the album
production/composition wise it's totally a light to decent 9 to me.
I'm not saying that lyrics aren't important in a Radiohead song, but as someone who considers In Rainbows his favorite,
I honestly think the production/instrumental work on this easily makes up for it. This really is the Amnesiac to In Rainbows, imo.

I feel like the soundscapes on this album are a little bit more of their own, if that makes sense. Kid A does have great textures (it's my favorite by them, along with Amnesiac) but I couldn't help the fact that the sound design was so reminiscent of the IDM of that era. Not speaking of the songwriting, but many of the soundscapes were literally LP5 for me.
