When I say there are objective values I don't mean at all that there is a single objective way, what I essentially mean is that there obvious objective criticisms to be made about, say, Dragonforce, and there are obvious objective qualities in Burzum's music that are good, and vice-versa. You can disagree with those, but objectively these qualities are present and make up the music.
For example, on Dream Theater the objective measurement is that they are very technically skilled and write length records and songs. Somebody's feeling about this could be either "It's good because of the incredible skill of the musicians and their ability to craft epic pieces of rock music" or, it could be "it's bad because the musicians are incapable of writing concise songs and instead just wank for 20 minutes."

For sure, they're going for a more down-tuned war metal base, rather than the traditional trebbly raw bm approcah. I like war metal though, so it sits fine with me. If you like the more traditionally raw stuff definitely check out Nefaria if you haven't though.
