This is their best bm album imo objectively
>>64723986
it's the darkthrone equivalent of a background noise machine.

What is the best Xasthur album/EP?
Demoncy - Faustian Dawn
Any Gorgoroth pre-Gaahl
>>64727024
The best in my opinion is actually Telepathic with the Deceased. To Violate the Oblivious is a close second. However, if you want to get into Xasthur I recommend listening to Suicide in a Dark Serenity. It's a short EP that manages to capture the essence of Xasthur. So if you enjoy that, you'll enjoy everything else he's done since all his albums are similar.
>>64726856
>>64726859
I don't even necessarily like atmospheric stuff, I'm just happy to see some artistic progression from a genre that has become pretty stagnant
>>64727078
t. atmoshitter
>>64727070
Thanks!
>>64727078
the genre ceased to exist in like 1997
Check out one man Black Metal band Kaneq and the album Spectral Walls Of Captivity. Dark and kindof Symphonic but in a really dark depressive way and somewhat spinechilling. overall Dark and Depressing. Here is a link to the best song on the album if anyone is interested
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tgsGjmC7iYM
this has to be among the finest
>>64727889
the most overrated lln album hands down
>>64726597
are you?
god tier indeed.
i'm pretty sure haters of this album 1) did not even listen to the first 30 seconds, 2) are 2trve to listen to anything post-1990.
im not saying its perfect, or for everyone, but its godtier in songwriting, style/aesthethic, production-wise, and god those drums.
>>64726545
Is there anything besides this and Burzum that sounds like burzum?

just listen to the whole thing
4ever
I was terminally bored of black metal for several years after experiencing burnout with the genre, then this mother fucker came out and reminded me of all the awesome shit the genre can do.
>>64732698
>space black metal
So it's beyond atmospheric? Lololol
But really that's a really pretentious thing to put under a genre name on a bandcamp page
>>64726545
This dude knows what is up!
>>64733100
how about you listen to it? they call it space metal because it uses synthesizers that sound like those used in space sci-fi movies. there's nothing pretentious about that
>>64733100
It's downtempo and djent-influenced, which sounds horrible but is actually really cool
underrated masterpiece coming through
>>64733391
You're right, it does sound horrible
I'm gonna listen to it once I'm done with >>64732402 , so far it's really dope
I love this album, I discovered it a week or so ago
After listening to the majority of black metal in the essentials charts and that one flowchart, I don't know what to do now to expand on my bm taste. I love the raw vibes of much of the Scandanavian bm scenes
Help me bm thread, I don't really like blackgaze or overly atmospheric black meal
>>64734242
Blackened crust, lad.
>>64734315
What would you reccomend to start with on that chart? I've never listened to anything remotely crust
>>64733799
>>64732105
>>64730208
you have my blessings anons
Wanna know why this song is a meme? Because there is NOTHING, I'll repeat for emphasis, NO FUCKING THING that is darker, colder, bleaker, blacker, more depressing, and more intense than this song right here in the history of music (yes, metal and otherwise). I implore you to even think about something that crosses the boundaries that this song has set. You may try, but how fruitless and wasteful of an activity. But still, prove me wrong /mu/, Just try
>>64734899
You're right. Transylvanian Hunger is a very unique album, and no album comes close to creating such an evil atmosphere.
>>64734899
dat nigga just want a bizza
who can rec me some shit that sounds like seven tears are flowing to the river?
no opinions pls
>>64733667
This anon here
>>64732402
This was fucking amazing
Listening to UMA now
>>64734401
The Ancst, Dark Circles, PlaguenedGraves, and Black Monolith albums are top-tier blackened crust from the chart. Oathbreaker isn't on the chart but they are worth mentioning among the best acts in the subgenre.
