i wouldn't be surprised if aphex hasn't made any new music since 2001
>>64720837
Autechre all the way.
Black Dog or Plaid?
>>64721122
Black Dog, but Plaid was ridiculously consistent up until they did that Soundtrack.
I'm a big Plone fan as well. Not really complex or anything, but it's really qt IDM
why do i love surfing on sine waves so much
>>64721122
Black Dog. Bytes is one of my faves
Squarepusher or Venetian Snares?
>>64721169
I never cared for Plaid that much. Couple of their 90s albums are alrightish but nothing even on those really grabbed me.
>>64721206
Squarepusher, shouldn't even be a question, though Aaron does have some venerable material out as well, especially in his early days.

Tom c.a. 1996-2004 was a fucking beast though.
Best artists in the "IDM" category:
>Bola
>Brothomstates
>Autechre
>B12 (and related)
>Mark Pritchard w/ Tom Middleton (Reload, Global Communication...)
>Phoenecia
>Ilkae
>Jaakko Manninen (md, Kschzt ...)
>Sense
>Esem
>Uwe Schmidt
There's also a ton of excellent releases by artists who only really put out that one stellar piece of work (Michael Fakesch - Marion, Jimmy Edger - My Mines I, Bedouin Ascent - Science, Art And Ritual...). And of course all the excellent compilations from say New Electronica, Toytronic, Merck, Schematic, deFocus... (the best labels).
Any fans of Disjecta? It's the solo project of Mark Clifford from Seefeel. Pretty good, not mind-blowing but solid.

That Bedouin Ascent album is ace.

At least Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments pt2 was made this century, I guess.
