I'm ok with that. He ended on a very high note that will hopefully inspire people. And he's got other musical projects that are also interesting and deserve more attention from him.
This is \ much better synthwave album to be released this year imo, Uncanny Valley has its moments but I found myself getting bored halfway through

Also I kind of feel that the genre is getting a bit saturated with a lot of wannabee shit. It started to get overly popular now. Darker sounding releases like this keep it out of the mainstream though, at least for some time.

when you listen to Carpenter's album you realize how shit Perturbator can be. I wish he focused more on the mixing, some of his stuff can be so shit to listen to, like Sentient for example, compare that one to, I don't know, even the first track from Lost Themes II and you can see how Perturbator can improve

The problem i think, is that they don't dig deep enough into their respective concept.
Synthwave is the result of a big mish-mash of influences from movie and game soundtracks to legit ambient albums and synthpop/synth rock, plus some new wave and italo disco. And the aesthetics are just "all things 80s"
So there's in fact a SHITLOAD of potential for creativity and a lot of influences to explore deeper than they already did, all they have to do is specialize and focus on certain topics and concepts that inspire them the most.
