Once prog rock gets boring
well, i already did. but the thing is that music and songs like you said are mutual to most people.
I recently got a synth (DX7) that I want to start making music with. My parents were asking me if I could play songs with it and I really didn't understand what they meant by playing or songs. I think they meant like strumming out Stairway to Heaven on a guitar.
I look at instruments as things that you make melodies or just sounds with, and then combine those with other things like filters, samples, noise, etc. to actually make the song.
I'm sure I'll be called out for being a fag pleb nigger durp like literally every time anyone posts anything on /mu/ but I believe that we've already progressed past making music with instruments and have instead entered the age of making music with things other than instruments. It just takes exposure to music that was made differently.
