Nightswimming is the only good song

Fixed that for you friend. You accidentally typed an extra 1 haha

>Murmur drones
Murmur is better than AFTP
AFTP is kind of inconsistent, the first three and final three songs are all perfect but everything in between is spotty
>>64706619
AFTP may be less consistent but it has more highs than Murmur.

>New Orleans Instrumental No. 1
>Everybody Hurts
>Sweetness Follows
>Ignoreland
>not all perfect and better than Man on the Moon
I agree Murmur is slightly better, but it's still easily their second best.
>>64706754
what's wrong with Man on the Moon?
>>64706754
I can't imagine thinking that any of those are better than Man on the Moon honestly, it's so perfect. Ignoreland is dope and Everybody Hurts isn't gag-inducing in the context of the album but better than Man on the Moon? Nah.

third behind murmur and reckoning
New Adventures in Hi-Fi is and always will be their best album
who /lifes rich pageant/ here????
cuyahoga is their best song
Collapse into now was a great way to go out
>>64706808
It's a great song and a perfect choice for a single, but I don't think it's on par with those other songs I mentioned.
I really like Out of Time desu senpaitachi
I really don't get people who think 90s REM is their best. Anything from Murmur to Document is better than anything after
Murmur 10/10
Life's Rich Pageant 9.0/10
Document 10/10
Green 7.8/10
Automatic for the People 9.6/10

Name a good song from that album that isn't Losing My Religion, Near Wild Heaven, or Shiny Happy People.
>>64708143
Low and Half a World Away were pretty interesting too, though those three are the high points. I never said it was the best, just that I
like it, more due to memories related to it than for the music itself.
>>64708143
>County Feedback
>Belong
Out of Time is actually a rock solid album, people just lose their shit because of the KRS-One feature.
>>64707150
>not Fall on Me
>large percentage of /mu/ still doesn't understand how great of a band REM was
>>64706413
Yeah. I've come to really like REM actually!
Life's Rich Pageant is the culmination of everything that was great about early R.E.M whereas the unfairly maligned Green is the best of everything that was to come later. If they had stopped here or after Out of Time, it would have been just fine. I love R.E.M. but I think 86 to 91 is the zenith.
>>64706413
Agreed. Definitely their most affecting and resonant album.
>>64708143
Literally all the other ones. Texarkana, Country Feedback, Half a World Away, Endgame, Radio Song, Low, Belong, etc.
Hey guys, can I come in?
>>64708143
Texarcana is great.
>>64710370
Bang and Blame can. That one's a rattlesnake.
