My non-white Hip-Hop friends only listen to Top 40 artists with some mainstream/well known "underground" rappers.
On another note when you reach a certain level of fame while "underground" your definitely not underground anymore, above that but less than top 40. IMO.

The best white hip hop musicians are those who ignore the genre conventions entirely and absorb that primal monkey noise into their own superior artistic expression.
Generally speaking, hip hop is a trash genre built around commercialism and celebrity image, and it requires the guiding hand of white genius to actually do anything interesting or creative.
The worst hip hop musicians today (Drake, Madlib, Macklemore, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, Kanye West, MF DOOM, M.I.A., Clams Casino, dalek, del the funky Papio Anubis, Aesop Rock, Eminem, A$AP Rocky, J. Cole, KRS-One, The Roots, Nas, Jay Electronica, Lil Dicky, Shabazz Palaces, Kenrick Lamar) follow typical hip hop genre conventions of repetition and herd mentality. If most white rappers are making terrible music, and they are, it's because they're imitating rappers like these who also make terrible music.

This. Plenty of people just like the music. Picking up the culture surrounding the music doesn't mean you're trying to be black, and it's obvious to everyone when someone is faking to make up for some weird guilty insecurity

Basically you have to understand that black people are petulant, invidious children who will virtually never be happy no matter how much you coddle and appease them in order to stave off their inevitable temper tantrum.
