It, like most genres has many amazing artists and recordings, the artists skill and talent is impressive, some of it even sounds good. I'm far from a big fan but over 100 years, its importance, influence and variety offers something for all for everyone from New Orleans brass bands to acid jazz.
So why do you write off a century of music as trash?
