retards on this board RIGHT NOW think that for certain styles of music (grime for instance) it's acceptable to just listen to singles and not full albums
>>
True for any kind of dance music pretty much
>>
>>64606310
>grime for instance
Listen 2 pirate radio sets or nothing lad
>>
>>64606353
what the fuck is with you british people and your pirate radio

literally the most retarded way to listen to music ever

This is why we have been at the forefront of new music for the last 50 years and you have Skrillex and Young Thug.
>>
>>64606400
Lol it's fine if you're not into grime but you can't like it and shit on radio
>>
>>64606321
It's not that EDM isn't an "albums genre", it's just a creatively bankrupt genre. If you can't produce actually good full-length works of art in a genre, it's trash.

You realize the concept of "albums" is pretty new in the history of music right
>>
>>64606434
Yes mate because Crazy Titch is truly the pinnacle of the British music scene.
>>
>>64606466
every single Phil Spector worked on has more creativity put into the 2 minutes of your time than the stuff I'm sure you wank over
>>
>>64606466
What if the entire album was made of good, but not related songs? Would that be an album of singles?
>>
>>64606491
and the history of humans is pretty new in the history of the world but we still own this fucking bitch

new paradigm motherfucker
>>
>>64606466
Yes, EDM is.

Whats that got to do with dance music?

This is objectively better than any album on the general essentials but its just a compilation of bangers.
>>
>>64606528

That doesn't make any sense in this argument tho

Because albums became the most popular form of music in 20th century doesn't mean we should nullify everything that doesn't follow it. That's implying music shouldn't exist outside of an album/compilation context at all even though it historically has, and still does
>>
>>64606550
it's the same shit. just because you make up a new genre everything a minute change in style occurs doesn't make it different. it's all the same shit whether you call it edm or post-bass-house-step rainforest jungle basement whatever the fuck music
>>
>>64606512
he is tho
grime doesn't get any better
says quite a bit bout the genre tho
>>
>autist fans of shitty underachieving genre cry about how said genre "isn't an album genre"
>a ghetto 18 year old literally made a critically acclaimed, award winning classic in said genre in the early stages of it's lifespan

HMM
>>
>>64606589
>thinking they care about the album vs single argument

Its just rocktards writing off all electronic music, funk, soul or basically anything thats not 4 chords and >muh feels
>>
>>64606310
There is 1 (One) good Grime full length release. There are several Grime tracks and freestyles better than those on that one album though.

>>64606512
I mean, this isn't even that wrong if you are talking only about one genre.

>>64606466
See >>64606573
>its just a compilation of bangers.

That's why no one who listens to dance music cares about LPs unless there is exclusive LP tracks on them (which there usually isn't).
>>
>>64606594
Worse than rock then.

Some of those aren't actual genres and most of those sound vastly different.

I'm not anti-electronic music or anything but to call all rock music the same is just plain stupid
>>
why do rockists hate radio so much
>>
>>64606704
Much like, you know, using the term 'electronic music' or saying it all sounds the same.
>>
>muh albums
Whatever mr rockist
>>
>>64606727
they think radio means top 40
>>
>>64606704
Yet calling everything from Stockhausen to Kanye, Skrillex to Taylor is just fine and dandy.
>>
>>64606594

A lot of the stylistic differences aren't minute though. House music is as different from drum & bass as punk is different from metal.

Even subgenres can be extremely distinct. In drum & bass, for example, neuro is as different from liquid as pop punk is from crust.
