What's Gorillaz best album and why is it The Fall?
Agreed
Since it was made on an iPad, some of the sounds are pretty mediocre but there's a dark atmosphere to the album which makes it the only Gorillaz album that I can take somewhat seriously.
It has a very nostalgic sound to it that I enjoy
Demon days>the fall>gorrillaz>plastic beach>b sides
The Fall wasnt bad but really it produced no real memorable tracks or tracks with any staying power. I get that the feel was just "oh hey we experimented with a bunch of stuff" but in the end it just sounds like a product of boredom. Considering how the album was made, on an iPad while touring, ofc production values arent going to be insane, and the tracks do have a unique sound, but nothing about the tracks really solidifies them as ground breaking or extremely enjoyable, it all just sounds super mediocre.
Now seriously, why was Plastic Beach so fucking good?

This pretty much. It's a good one time listen, but nothing will really make you return to it. tracks like Amarillo and Revolving Doors aren't too terrible tho

Great featurings, Lou Reed, Mos Def, De La Soul and Snoop's part on WTTPB is fun and laid back

>still didn't grow out of his edgy contrarian phase
Gorillaz 8.5/10
Demon Days 8/10
Plastic Beach 7/10
The Fall 4/10

Contrarian post is simply the best way to spark a discussion, although I've started to appreciate The Fall the same way I do Demon Days or Plastic Beach

Yes because their best song they ever did is on there: Hillbilly
It would be better if it ended after Amarillo. I like the sound of it, it's fun and minimalist
