dance like a fucking idiot whenever I listen to anything that isn't ambient or drone basically

That's kind of cute actually.

Are you me? I can't dance well tho, that's sad, but it's hard to me stand still while listening music that are not ambient/drone.

i like singing harmonies with songs in the car. its too easy to just sing on pitch, i think of it like practice trying to sing harmonies

It is practice

Singing along to the Beach Boys will do wonders for your ability to sing within a certain key

>listening to music with drops

you should be dropped

I find that i'm often a lot more familiar with the first half of albums because if there isn't a certain song i want to hear ill just start at the beginning and usually won't get all the way through it because of time or whatever reason.

I have a bad habit of restarting a song I like half way though it, not even finishing it just listening to maybe the first two or three minutes again. It's nothing I try and do on purpose. I just really like some songs. Sometimes I'll listen to the same song for an hour straight
>>
>>64589225

Listening to the same fucking shit for years and years, I call it "crutch music"

Becoming too impatient to take in new material that may make it to your crutch music playlist, so you almost exclusively listen to those same fucking tracks over and over again.

i e becoming way too indulged in one or two artists for way too long

Pic related. A lot of time I'll listen to something on Youtube that's really heartfelt and moving, maybe even like a Bob Dylan song, or a Cat Power song, or something I've never heard before, and then I'll be like "this is good, but it's nothing like Pitseleh". And I'll sit there listening to Pitseleh thinking "fucking masterpiece". I've also done this with Nirvana and NMH

>>64591146

I do this and it infuriates me
>>
>>64591146
I listen to a lot of "extreme" music and I do this too. If a new album isn't as loud or intense as one of my favorites it just makes me want to listen to the old stuff. I probably cycle through like 3 or 4 albums a year
>>
>>64594349
this, except less extreme and more unique/stylized
whenever I find a band with a unique style I like that sounds different to pretty much anything else I tend to binge on pretty much exclusively their stuff for a good while
>>
>>64587455
this

if you don't dance when listening to your favorite music, you've truly lost the joys of living.

Yes, I agree with both of you who are essentially saying the same thing. Like for example, I'll hear a hardcore band of some sort, with what sounds like a really hard hitting track, but then I'll think "Now let's see how my boys from Acid Bath sound right after this" and 99% of the time, because I'm so used to Acid Bath, I'll end up thinking "this band would fuck up that band" and it becomes very hard for me to digest new material. Usually someone famous I respect, or a friend has to show me something in a certain time or place to really appreciate it.
>>
>>64588912
At this point my "to listen to" list is too dense to begin because I listen to the same albums every day.

Yep. The first three to five tracks are gold then I'll just stop. If it's a band I love, I'll know every song on the album, but god damn does it suck only knowing half the songs.

i'm glad other people do this, people i talk to never understand what i'm trying to get at

to be honest, i think i'd prefer to be able to just listen to a couple songs in random order or turn an album off halfway through, it'd sure make life easier, but man it provides a lot of satisfaction to experience a whole album as it was meant to be heard
