Easily Lennon for me, I love his solo stuff. And his contribution to The Beatles, easily the best tracks they released came from him. He was also the most interesting Beatle to watch interviews etc.

He's at least second.
Deakin is good, but it's hard to compare him to Avey when Avey has done almost every album while Deakin pops in once in a while.
>>64583966
Checked
Not being part of albums like Shitting With isn't really something you can blame on him
also, i heard one time he was riding his motorcycle and got hungry, so he pulled over, hopped a fence to some farm, slaughtered a cow with a knife and cut himself a steak
jonny is the one who turns thom's ghoulish wailing into songs
>>64584006
Yea, but Avey has Spirit and Sung Tongs under his belt.
>>64584049
Welp yeah but his solo projects aren't as good as Sleep Cycle
>>64583925
Definitely at playing, but he's half the songwriter Cobain was.

This is pretty spot on. As much as John had his moments some of his solo work with Yoko is torture,
>>64584833
Nah...
Geezer and Ward where GOAT too, though.
One of the most underrated drummers to be honest.

Paul was the musician
George was the underrated accompanist
Lennon was the faux-populist imposing his egoism on lesser personalities i.e. classic liberal
>>64585029
>>64585187
Going by his solo career compared to Noel's, most definitely not.

Fucking with the formula
I agree.
John was the most talented, as in, he had the greatest natural skill in playing and composing of the four.
However, Paul was in a short matter of time the most skilled at playing and composition, because he actively bettered himself, whereas John really couldn't be bothered.
George is somewhere between the two in this sense.
>>64583549
Agreed. Lennon was great but McCartney had the melodies.

Avey is best at synths.
Panda is best at drums.
Deakin is best at guitar.
Geologist is best at samples.
Their music makes extensive use of all of those, so its all good.

Lennon was the one who changes pop songwriting by making songs about feelings more than just love. Mccartney just inspired Metal.
