I can't believe how good this is. Why is it so underrated? Is MGMT too much of a "normie" band or something?

I don't know OP you tell me.
It's not underrated
It'll be looked back on in a similar way Pet Sounds was, a very commercial band releasing something ambitious and way different to polarizing results.
It's a 10/10 album for me
Stop trying to make this album happen you mongs. MGMT were never anything more than a shitty 2000s buzzband that should've died there along with Peter Bjorn and Ladytron.

people automatically disregard them because of their first album which I actually love too btw. But yeah this album is fucking great. A little corny at times though.

It's goofy poppy rock music made by a couple of coy smartasses. Why would it be critically hailed?
Are they a normie band? I dunno, but their music is painfully bland and anodyne -- I wouldn't expect anything less from a pretty boy who essentially plays classic rock tribute music.
Electric feel was catchy tho -- video was unsurprisingly cringeworthy

nice work, you used the words anodyne and coy. now do you have anything of substance to contribute?
