Grimesfags need to be erased from the planet.
Bjork is the best artist period.

There may be better female artists, but there is nobody who can be Bjork better than Bjork, in the whole of history to come. She's carved out a very specific niche for her brand of everything.

Even though she relies heavily on the help of male producers (lol), yes, I'd say she's the most admirable female musician.
I like the interview with Aphex Twin, in which he talks about declining Bjorks request for him to work on her next album... "she's like a little kid in a candy store"
>>64565966
Compositionally Bjork is a mastermind arranger, her strings and her orchestra directions are nothing short of overwhelming, always. It's due to the sexism thing, actually she produces a lot of the things by her own, but also loves to collaborate with musicians, which is a fundamental aspect in music abilities.
Just look at Medùlla, it's enough to understand her practical genius.
>>64565966
funny how in that same interview he says, without any evidence, that she relies heavily on male producers
you seem to just have taken his word for it
>>64566195
Someone like Grimes did everything by herself. Bigger talent tbch.
Even as a male I have trouble coming up with things that she hasn't already done.
e.g. everytime I see the hyperballad video.
I don't feel jell or anything like I sometimes do with pop artists who have the money backing to achieve their vision (or rather the vision their labels have for them) just huge love and respect.
I can see how that dude got obsessed with her in a way. I will probably cry when she dies.
>>64566226
>you seem to just have taken his word for it
I read the article about 10 years ago and don't remember that, but whatever. You only need to look at the producer credits on her albums for proof of the fact that men are responsible for quite a lot.

(you)
>>64566250
>>64566429
Yes, she collaborated with some men throughout her career (and guess what, most producers are men!), but it is impossible to say how much they've done and how much she's done.
On another note, Bjork's music is a lot more than just production, and she does mostly everything else (writing and composing) by herself.
It's interesting how no one seems to care much when male musicians don't self-produce their work. Take Radiohead for example, always relying on Nigel Godrich's production. You don't hear people going on about how they're not responsible for their music.
>>64566429
Literally puppets which have been told what to do. Dude have you ever seen one of her studio documentaries? There are tons of them.
But still, see pic related actually.

Difference is that Radiohead make rock music with real instruments and Björk doesn't.

nothing like being one of the only black females in the genre.
>>64566599
>You don't hear people going on about how they're not responsible for their music
I really can't stand it when people allow women (especially artists) constantly play the patriarchy card, but you do have a point here; nevertheless, if i were an artist, I would thoroughly resent being "called upon" to be one of her toys. And I think that was most likely Aphex Twin's sentiments.
>>64566607
Don't get me wrong, I've been a fan for many years. I'll have to watch some of her docs.
>>64568387
Nay.
>>64565540
I'd have to go with Juana Molina. She's fucking brilliant
would you a tappi tikarrass-era bjork?

>few women
i get that they aren't a majority, and she's pretty good but cmon. There have been female vocalists in metal. One of the biggest memes relying on the 2000's is based on a female vocalist in a metal band: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YxaaGgTQYM
>>64567222
Except Bjork uses real instruments in concert anon. You're ignorant of what she's actually done.
>>64566195
Almost the entirety of Vespertine was her as well, and the producer has admitted this.
>>64565966
You realize you are taking anything Aphex Twin has said in in interview seriously, right?
Link-related certainly isn't anything groundbreaking, but I just thought I'd give a contemporary female artist credit for making some truly badass music.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sryFDibdGzw
It's always the usual suspects in these threads, and they all make intrinsically feminine music, but Pharmakon seems to be genuinely more "gender neutral" (kek)
However, concerning fans of this, I wouldn't mind seeing a Bataclan of one her shows.
>>64570033
Lol. Good point, but I think he's right, regardless of whether or not he was being smartass
>>64570012
You are right, man. I live in Tennessee, so I have been to Bonnaroo quite a few times. The last year I could stomach going (since they have made so many horrible decisions and changes) was 2013 when Bjork was there. She plays a lot of large, crazy venues. Not many of which give you the option to be fully torqued on drugs while enjoying the performances.
That concert was easily one of the best shows I have seen in my life, and made the decision to put Bonnaroo behind me an easy one. Nothing was going to top that Bjork show. If you get the chance to see her live, acid or not, definitely take advantage of it.
People are going to have different opinions about her, but nothing anyone can say is going to change my mind.
tfw bjork will die in your lifetime
>>64571361
Good. I'll get to experience the pleasure of taking a shit on her grave.
>10/10 edgy
I wish Bjork did more punk rock. She has a great vocal range for it.

>>64569087
she looked like a little german boy when she was younger. it's weird.
>>64571567
LOL i cant believe ppl actually embrace being edgy
The correct answer is Laurie Anderson
>>64571970
You can't even fathom my edginess, anon. I mean look at this post >>64571567 ... read it! That really showcases my "fuck the world" attitude, and you cant fake something like that.
I was born a rebel, and I'll always BE a rebel. And there's nothing you OR my parents can do about it.
>>64572032
Think of the children anon.

>>64572164
So you haven't listened to Post, with Hyperballad or any of her classic hits?
>>64572204

>>64572229
You should give Post a shot. it has that great 90s angst. takes me back

>>64572358

I guess I'm not the only person obsessed with listening to Bjork. I've been having Vespertine on repeat for months.
