Is *decent quality* edm ever discussed here? I'm not a /mu/tant so I'm not sure. If yes, edm thread. What subgenres and artists have you been digging lately?
Future house has been a guilty pleasure of mine lately. As far as artists go I've really enjoyed all of Cashmere Cat's output. I'd love to discover some new shit though.

I know "EDM" assosiates it with a culture that a lot of people find cringy, I simply used it as a broad term to represent a wide variety of music. Also not a deadmau5 fan anymore, just posted it as a random pic people here would recognize.

I really like trip-hop and some prog house
Assuming some of you don't hate the scene too much to go to shows, what's the best electronic performance you've seen? I'd have to say Keys N Krates myself, as it was an actual live performance unlike most other DJs. The stage setup had a live drummer, keyboardist, and DJ who mixed and cued samples. Really brought a lot of energy that's usually missing.
Their opening act was also great, though I'm not sure of the name (Hermitude?) It was 100% samples, playing a MIDI like an instrument and using really creative samples. Sadly, the crowd wasn't into it because they didn't know anything about the tools being used and it didn't have those sick EDM drops bro.

Dark Psychedelic is generally a high-bpm style with dark, grim atmoshpere and lots of sound effects. It's best played at night in open-air parties

Well I remember at late 00s I was in open air party where number of dj's played. After the sunrise two finnish guys started to play, texas faggott, they didn't do magic, but they performed very well, had lot of fun then.

I took a course at uni on the electronic music and its history and evolution and it was extremely interesting. Learned how to classify genres a lot better and learning about how house began and all that was great
