He gets recognition for sure. Even people like Joe Perry have praised his work. I think he's underrated not unrecognized. There are even people on Pumpkins fan forums who think the guy from Soundgarden (Kim Thayil) or the guy from AIC (Jerry Cantrell) are better than him.
As a guitarist, I think Corgan is up there with real guitar heroes, not meme Grunge players from the 90's
