>tfw you finally into jam bands
>tfw you know a jam is around the corner
>jam bands
>not just getting into psych bands that make 20 minute long tracks
Parson Sound is good, Phish is not
>>64542670
>all jam bands are phish

It's all good buds! Jammy psych, jammy blues, jammy bluegrass/folk. Get jammy buds!
did you smoke your first joint?
Does Throbbing Gristle count as a jam band ?
I spend nearly every weekend at small to medium size festivals all spring summer and fall. Going on 18 years attending them. First was in 97 or 98. I love it.
*smokes weed once*
what are the best jam bands / releases? i dig live/dead
this girl i was hooking up with took me to see a jam band (for free) and it was okay for the first half but i was honestly ready to leave at around that point
>>64543325
no, it was weird, just all of a sudden I got it after never having really liked it that much before.
>>64543488
Do you prefer folky jamband stuff or dancing funky jamband? Or both. There's a lot of "sub" genres to go on.
>>64543488
Yawning Man and Causa Sui are top notch
>>64543562
>Causa Sui
my nig
>>64543348
nah fuck no, they're just total... fucking... marmalade.
>>64543747
They aren't sweet enough to be marm.
That brings me back, OP. I'm at the stage when I'm finally moving on from them.
>>64543463
>98 is 18 years ago
>>64543840
yeah, what were some of your favorites?
>>64543488
allmans eat a peach and at fillmore east. if you like live dead check out the fillmore west grateful dead box set, it's basically the rest of live/dead. you might like Widespread Panic or Gov't Mule but i honestly never gave a shit about them
>>64543914
And I said I've been going to festivals for 18 years. My math and memory matched and I'm kinda impressed. Are you not?
>>64543946
Definitely Allman bros. Mule if you already like hard rock/metal/ and or hair bands. Still good. Aquarium rescue unit, colonel Bruce and the codetalkers.
>>64544002
I'm just overwhelmed by the persistence of time
>>64544030
and if you like those allman releases, i can't recommend enough their Ludlow and Stony brook '70 bootlegs. never got into any of Bruce Hampton's stuff, but i keep wanting to give it a try due to the 1992 HORDE tour
Acid Mothers Temple

Ludlow mountain jam was always my favorite. I live 10 mins from the venue. It just reopened as a small sit down club with fine dining upstairs. Kinda a let down.
>>64544051
Right on. Me too. I still party, but pace myself well. Nap during the day, rage til 10 am.
