ITT: underrated albums/bands
That album is like sub-/mu/core, though. On the othr hand their other stuff is pretty looked over
actually underrated here
>>64540670
That album has a very strong cult following here. Same tier as Sweet Trip and Fishmemes
>>64540705
I disagree... what would you consider underrated? Just curious
>>64540730
astrobrite is shit tho
Scott Cortez is a hella good guitar player but he can't write songs, let alone a cohesive album, for shit
Mark Hollis solo album
>>64540824
Well, it's underrated in real life, but not on /mu/, all their other albums are underrated. I love Duster, btw
pic related is very underrated imo
>>64540670
i love duster, but in these parts they're far from underrated.
Incubus. They're often dismissed as another generic rock band that got big in the late 90s/early 2000's but if you dig past their singles they wrote some great music, even if it is pop rock. Underrated on here and by critics.

Under-appreciated outside of /mu/ definitely, as is most slowcore.
cmay has some interesting music out of denver CO

I agree, Earth is underrated
>>64540670
underrated here? no
underrated everywhere else? yes
i love this album so much but everyone here has had passionate loving sex with it so much its vagina looks like the end of a wine bottle, bottom first
Duster is underrated outside of /mu/ because no normalfag knows what Duster is.

That was a lot better than I expected. I'm a sucker for sax
>>64543343
I'm glad it exceeded your expectations, the sax truly is wonderful on that song.
Duster has a huge meme following by people who think it's an obscure album, it's a great record but most people have heard of it by now, at least on /mu/
Inside Out has to be one of the comfiest tracks ever
The Fall is pretty fucking comfy, people bash on it all the time but I think most haven't given it a try.

agree, revolving doors is a GOAT song
>>64540670
Doopenadoopenadoopena
>>64543929
That album became a meme in 2013. Most of the rym /mu/tants have heard it.
Fishmans
>>64543797
This
>revolving doors
>hillbilly man
>shytown
>parish of space dust
>amarillo
>Bobby in pheonix
All those songs are great
>>64540953
I'm honestly surprised that Karate is almost never talked about around here. They never released a bad album.
>>64544082
That and The Coast Is Never Clear are indie pop perfection.
le hampus man postrock album
oh my god everyone shut the fuck up about it not being underrated on here, he knows that.
it's clearly underrated by critics though, especially since most /mu/core is lauded by critics
>>64544127
Same, I've posted them in a few sharethreads over the years with little reception. I prefer the earlier stuff(s/t) to their jazzier direction later in their discog, but it's all good.
Have you listened to any of Geoff's solo stuff?
>>64543761
my nig, was my intro to duster and prob my fave song by them. So comfy
>>64544446
Oddly enough, my top 2 favourite albums by them are In Place of Real Insight and Pockets.
I haven't delved too deep into Geoff's solo stuff but Reverse Eclipse definitely caught my attention.
i've never seen anyone talk about this. seriously my favorite album ever.

i have been playing too much dark souls
>>64540670
This is completely forgotten compared to their other stuff.
>>64544082
this
>>64544023
It doesn't matter if everyone in the whole world has heard it. It's still underrated.
Easily my favourite artist. Her whole discography is amazing. Incredibly poignant and depressive lyrics backed by disarmingly charming music.
this is probably the most criminally underrated among a slew of underrated great albums Greg was involved with. luckily Wipers seem to be getting recognized a bit more these days
