I really like how sparse he is. This point has been repeated to history, but he just doesn't play a note too much. A lot of praised drummers just go waaay to hard. Ringo just added to the composition, Keith Moon, for example, sometimes distracts from the song as a whole (although he generally fits their style).

lol why do drummers think they matter?
>>64527139
drummers should be uplifted and praised. they are special beings who sacrifice ego and glory for the good of the band. they are rare in the self-actualization seeking millennial population. i love a drummer
>>64526576
ringo's technique with the semi-open hi hat was GOAT. he created this sound that adds a layer of white noise to the early beatles singles, really complements the fast tempo and energy of the song. ringo is definitely a guitarist's drummer though, lol.

This
Iiteral autists who actually made it
the musical equivalent of a sign twirler
Ringo = the luckiest plumber from Liverpool.
Kanye has been incredibly lucky with all the people he's met, who most of the time have done the work for him, Kanye just puts his name on the box.

forrealz doe they basically liked her BECAUSE she couldnt actually play and it gave the music a less threatening and more childish and amateurish feel

he's the musical center of the band
though if you mean lucky to be alive? yes.

scaruffi considers her the second best drummer ever
make of that what you will
>>64530061
That was actually her style/philosophy, that the drummer should just give the beat. She's a fairly skilled musician, but because they chose her for her simplicity, anyone could've filled her position.
>>64530158
Skill-wise no, but she's one of the most influential for sure
.
>tfw he's more famous than anyone else in the band

epic xDddDD
His entire musical career exists because he lied about being a musician to a studio manager

Bitch had her debut single reach No.1 in every country it charted in, and her debut album debuted at No.1 as well

Haha, no. Keef wrote or co-wrote most of the classics, was an absolutely fantastic rhythm player, and is a riff master on par with Iommi.

I think The Beatles were pretty lucky to have Ringo. He never seaked as much attention as the other three and really knew his place in the band. He wasnt arguining about the number of "Ringo" songs on an album, or requesting drum solos. He just did his job to the best of his ability (which is seriously underrated), he wasnt taking sides. He just did what he was told, and the songs he did sing in The Beatles Catelog arent too bad either.
Mike Love. I knew he was a pretty big part in their early image (Dennis was still more important in that regard), but the fucker never even bothered to learn an instrument (at least for recording parts or most live play), any time after mid 65 the guy was just riding the cottails of Carl and Brian

scaruffi's right about everything except trout mask replica, and THE FACT THAT he tends to needlessly pan artists' later albums while praising their first for no particular reason other than that he only gives high ratings for originality, experimentation, and "influence", not even whether he really enjoyed the music or not
i dont know how much he expects artist to vary their sound on subsequent albums, what's wrong with returning to the style that people have been receptive to

Haven't heard this story about Stapleton, where did you read it?

The story starts at 16:50. I think there's a more detailed account in England's Hidden Reverse, but I haven't read it.

Sure, popularity-wise she had some great start 2000's, but I do not envy her emotional roller-coaster of a life.

He forgot to take his trip off. The little sandnigger.
Pretty much everyone who's "made it" is quite lucky. For every famous musician, there are many unknowns who are just as talented.

I don't even like Kanye and will say this is false.
He did, however, take a common modality and refine it. Whether that makes him worthy of praise or just a dude that was good at figuring out trends before they erupted depends on how you view people like Steve Jobs. Or to a lesser extent, Bowie.
