Does /mu/ like obscure japanese music?
>>64403405
you call this obscure?
Its nothing interesting musically.
Yes.
$500 says you browse rym
>>64403432
You didn't like it? Shame. I like it. Well then. Try this one out for size.
I haven't really heard any, but I'm bound to like some of it
>>64403476
I didnt?
Im questioning what you call obscure, when it sounds like pretty standard J-Rock with a jazz under tone.
(review of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0t8INh05yQ )
>liking music solely based on it's nationality
>>64403570
you can't deny a lot of japanese artists have their own unique sound/culture compared to western music
>>64403476
Now thats dissapointing, it developes these unique ideas for the first 20 seconds of the album but then switches to a pseudo 80s sound while keeping a "progressive" structure. At the 1.40 mark is the revelation that you're in for a boring album.
>>64403566
What does standard J-Rock mean to you?
>>64403598
I feel like you're op,

Im going to say they generally dont, at all. Japanese culture, and its music is heavily Americanized at this point. Both the examples youve posted dont have any elements of traditional japanese music.
Its evident that this music is built heavily off of the 70's / 80's sounds. And look at pop music, no difference at all, except it sounds like a tv show opening.
The main thing to back this up is it lacks the traditional japanese music structure, which was to base the music off of breathing time
>>64403635
J-rock is essentially a sripped version of 80s rock, without the experimentation.
The music structure is the same and not unique.
>>64403617
It was sort of made in the 80s you know. I don't understand the criteria on which you judge music, and I'm not sure you do either.
>>64403716
No that wasn't me. I know who I am and who you are and I think you replied to Tricot guy. After that there are three posts belonging to two IPs which is weird because why would you post in the same thread twice unless you're replying to someone?

im also the second post

Well this is dumb.
Inviting more posters by posting this meme album that is more phenomenal than its meme status would imply.
>>64403925
this one is better
>>64403458
I actually do
>>64405558
kek
>>64403405
this used to be mucore its good but everything else ive heard by them isnt quite as good
>>64403405
What I think is most funny about this meme is that Les Rallizes Denudes, Merzbow, and Fushinshita will all remain obscure regardless of wether /mu/ knows about them and tries to claim that they are meme bands.

Zin-say, picky picnic, haniwa-chan, the list could really go on
>>64405634
I honestly like this one. If the first album didn't have such a strong aesthetic this one wouldn't be a 180 from it and more people would like it I think.
>>64405719
one of my fav artists - tho I think drum is better
>>64403476

iLL - sound
nakamura "nakako" koji (ex-Supercar frontman) isn't exactly an "obscure" guy but I do feel like his solo albums aren't given much thought.
