Can I automatically dismiss someone as having bad taste for not liking Prince and Bowie? I tried to get this person into them even before they died. General discussion over this matter (if they don't like perfection, should their taste be in lower regard?)

A lot people did. The reason why people freaked out so much is because they were always sort there, playing in the car, talking on tv, performing on the super bowl, or advocating hot young talent. Now they're not and it makes people eerily uncomfortable above all else.
I don't really care much for Bowie. He does have some great albums, but overall not someone I really followed or cared about.
