It really bums me out there's nothing as good as Foobar for Mac users. iTunes is such a bloated piece of shit and is really hard to deal with when you have a huge library.

have u tried Vox? it worked pretty well for me until I imported a lot of compilation albums
compilation tracks that have different artists are segregated into separate albums per artist
honestly the only edge iTunes really has is its sorting system
