So why has /mu/ completely ignored this? It's great, probably his best yet
Been meaning to listen to this actually.

First three tracks are gold. The sonic choices for the In Bloom cover make much more sense in the context of the album.
It's got a strong soul influence, lots of horns, which works surprisingly well given he's got such a great voice. He gets a great sound of out of his string arrangements too, they never slip into melodrama.
Wishing him continued success, country music REALLY needs an artist like this to break through
so this has to be one of those things where we're ignoring it because we don't want /mu/ to ruin it, right?
kinda like what happened with I Love You, Honeybear last year

I didn't think I liked country until I listened to this.

There's lots of great country music out there anon, you just have to dig for it a bit and ignore most country made past 1980.
I wonder if everyone will eventually realize that Sturgill is actually making the avant-country that we meme about Jason Aldean making.

don't fuck this up for everybody, anon
Margo Price's new record is really good too
it's quite good but it's barely country. breakers roar is the best song.
