I wish they covered actual obscure music and burgeoning scenes, sending people out into the real world to do actual music journalism, rather than just reporting on stuff within a margin of success, and I agree with the over-promotion of black artists. I recently discovered Omar Souleyman, and pitchfork Paris was hyping him up, so maybe the Paris branch is better for finding more obscure stuff, although if they overhype middle eastern artists in general and don't just think souleyman's cool for what he makes like I do, then it's the same thing that's going on in the US with pitchfork and black artists.
