>every band at Coachella this weekend are doing Prince covers
I'm really getting sick of these hipster bandwagoners. None of these bands were influenced by Prince, they need to stop acting like it.
>you're not allowed to express any appreciation for a recently dead cultural icon unless you meet my specific set of criteria

>Capitalize on this man's death, it's not a shallow play on people's emotions

"9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11"
>>64293211
It must suck to be this paranoid.

So because they weren't directly influenced in their sound by Prince they're not allowed to pay their respects even though they most likely were in some way influenced personally by him?
Yeah, no, fuck you. Go cry to someone who cares.
>>64293211
How are they capitalizing on his death? It's not like it's selling more tickets.
>>64290947
You are one sad, pathetic person.
I'm really getting sick of these hipster bandwagoners. None of these people were influenced by my dead mother, they need to stop acting like it.

They suddenly know a Prince song or two? It's an opportunistic attention grab for these, judging by the Coachella lineup, likely talentless hacks.
>>64290947
Literally every band at Coachella sucks. The youth culture is shit, their music is shit, and Coachella hipster consumer friendly garbage.

born in lewrongeneration anon?
I heard they've even selling Prince t-shirts there. If he died a couple weeks ago they'd have time to sell tickets for an extra set for holo-Prince playing Purple Rain.
>a record salesman said someone from LCD Soundsystem had bought out all of his Prince vinyl that morning.
LCD Soundsystem confirmed never having heard prince before this morning.

He may be paranoid but you're naive. Musicians that make it to that level of public spotlight probably have a higher than normal chance of being opportunists so it's not that far fetched that not all the tributes are sincere.
>>64290947
I sincerely, unironically cannot name a single Prince song
How is he so culturally relevant?
GN'R definitely will, i know Duff is a huge Prince fan
>>64297544
Just because you don't listen to him doesn't mean no one else does.
>>64296335
It's not far fetched at all, but OP's perception is clearly colored by him thinking the artists are "talentless hacks". He shows no nuance.
>mfw I've literally never heard a Prince song because every time I went to look something up in the past I couldn't find it
>>64297588
The whole band is I'd imagine. Not sure anyone wants to see Axl singing Kiss from that throne of his but I could see it happening
The only coachella band that can legit get away with a prince cover are the 1975. All other acts are just wanking it for the zeitgeist.
