Will she be remembered 5 years from now as a soulless embodiment of pop consumerism?
>>
She's regarded now as pretty much the end-all cosmic embodiment of soulless pop consumerism. She's the Ronald Reagan of pop music, the Margret Thatcher of pop, the Trump of pop.
>>
>>64286584
fpbp
>>
Nah. She'll turn into another weird old bitch like Madonna with 3 kids by 3 different men, write conservative childrens books and weird everyone out by dating men half her age.
>>
Yes, but the poptimists will continue to adore her
>>
>>64286584
first post best post.

>weird everyone out by dating men half her age
Man I hope she dates me I'm only 21
>>
No, Vaporwave will.

Will Taylor tracks be turned into memewave anytime soon?
>>
>>64286544
Nah no one will realize it and she will go down as being a "great talent", it's not like there havent been 100000 trend hopping pop stars exactly like her before

Ironically the only pop stars who do get mass criticism are the ones who play the system and subvert what a pop star is, like Kanye
>>
>>64286544
That will most likely be Drake.
>>
>>64287517
I think Drake will go down as one of the most important and significant crossover pop stars ever and I don't even like him.

Anyway,>>64286544

Yeah Op, she is a soulless embodiment of pop consumerism. Her songs are boring generic garbage and her voice is nothing special. he also has no ass and is an amazon horse-witch.

I agree with what you say about Swift, but Trump is the best hope we got sorry. Calling people Trumpcucks makes no sense anyway do you even know what that means? Can you prove Reagan's responsibility?

The funniest thing is that TS is a self-proclaimed feminist, a massive whore who complains about 'slut-shaming' (just watch her vogue interview, dating a string of celebrities and writing hit songs about them is apparently normal twenty-something dating life) and the faggots at vox.com, buzzfeed did a serious analyses of her.

She is literally everything they hate, but she's a shitty blonde whore so they love her

she looked like an under-developed 17-year old, with shitty make up and weird looking curly hair. The straight hair that goes to her shoulders is 9/10.
>Now she looks like she's destined to be a single mom,

literally how? single moms don't look like that, she's too thin for a baby
>>
>>64288005
For neo-liberalism? It's not a secret, he started that huge trend toward outsourcing and globalization in the US. Inform yourself you dumbass. It's no secret that he is seen as the ideological figure of the Republican party, he's brought up all the time in debates as an example to follow.

Trump is not the "best hope we got", he's not even winning the nomination, you guys need to get your heads out of your asses. It's going to be a contested convention and everyone knows it. The Republican party will not give Trump the solo nomination for the Republican party.
>>
>>64288619
>he's not even winning the nomination
yes he fucking will
>t's going to be a contested convention and everyone knows it
not giving him the nomination will crash the party with no survivors
>>
>>64288619
>he's not even winning the nomination
Numbers don't lie. Little Marco will come out with his tail between his legs and endorse him any day because giving it to Cruz will alienate the edgy younger anti-establishment voters, which are the only hope the right has at this point. If they don't nominate him they're all willingly destroying the party for no reason other than baseless pride.
>>
>>64288693
The Republican party's allegiance is to the mainstream establishment, not to Donald Trump. They will not give him the nomination, he will be denied. They didn't spend 50 million dollars on riot gear for the RNC for no reason. They know what's going to happen, they know Trumpcucks will be angry as fuck and they're ready.
>>
>>64288761
I don't know what it's going to take for you to realize that they would rather have Clinton win than Trump.
>>
Taylor is one of the best pop stars at the moment. It's not anything life-changing, but it's fun music for the most part.

There's so much of the "woman yelling at the top of her lungs over blaring synths" that I will never understand how people like. Taylor is something you don't mind hearing if it comes on the radio. Most of it makes you want to turn it off in disgust.
>>
>>64288761
>>64288693
Like seriously is this your guys' first election?
>>
>>64288828
I can't think of a single song on the radio that is a woman yelling at the top of her lungs over blaring synths.
>>
>>64288856
Cool For the Summer
Every Katy Perry song
Talking Bodies
In the Night (he counts as a female pop star)
Those two Ariana Grande songs that sound identical (not so much synths but that constant top-of-range shrieking)
>>
>>64288942
That's all standard female signing in pop song choruses. None of that is reaching the upper limits except Ariana Grande. The reason why Ariana Grande does that is because her voice is fucking beast and a lot of people appreciate that being applied. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjzENV7rhhI
>>
>>64289021
My problem is how monotonous it is. With the exception of AG and The Weeknd none of them have very good voices, yet they sing everything at maximum volume so it fits in with the No Dynamics Allowed production style. It's just boring to hear everything maxed-out, including a shrill voice.
In a song like Style the vocals are more expressive because they go from quiet to loud at appropriate times, instead of everything sounding like an unending chorus
>>
>>64289166
Ah the good ole wall of sound.
>>
>>64287746
>like neocons have ever liked RR

If riots happen anywhere, it's going to be at the Democrat Convention. And it will all be from leftists demanding that they nominate an even more extreme left candidate. You'll see Black Panther flags, hammer-and-sickle flags, rainbow flags, Palestinian flags. You name it and it'll be there.

>It's not a secret, he started that huge trend toward outsourcing and globalization in the US

I seem to recall it was one William Jefferson Clinton who signed free trade agreements with China and Mexico that cost over one million American jobs.
>>
I actually think there will possibly be a backlash.

There's this flavor of blandness enabled by a certain popist politics and social media atmosphere that's going to go out of style eventually, and when it does her music might not be strong enough to survive the shift.

We'll see though.

But carry on as you will. Things sort themselves out.

He also said in 96 that Bob Dole was far more of a real Republican than...

I think Goldwater was getting pretty senile by that point.
>>
>he doesn't remember about the church groups burning piles of rock records in the 80s

This was an entire snake pit of crazies who followed Reagan into power.
>>
>>64290729
>like it was his fault
>like that was any different from the overreaction parents had to Elvis in the 50s
>>
>>64290826
Actually it's a little bit funnier because the generation of parents who were burning Motley Crue cassettes back then were the same ones who grew up in the 50s rock and roll era.
>>
>>64290826
>overreaction

To be fair, rock n roll DID change everything... was possibly the main force to viserally undo the '50s' societal conservatism.

For people whose goal were upholding traditional or conservative values, it was perfectly on-point actually for them to call all this for what it was, even then.

You don't have to be onboard with their cause, but it's so specious when progressives say they were 'overreacting' or paranoid. They were right about what would happen. You could support the changes, but denying them is dishonest.
>>
she'll be doing country or folk again because muh white music is so deep and mature
>>
>>64291108
When she uses her youth appeal, yes, middle-of-the-road artists like her seem to revert to country nowadays as a career strategy.
