Ignoring the fact that Piper was a psychedelic breakthrough, I'm curious why you love The Wall so much. After releasing three arguably perfect albums, Dark Side/WYWH/Animals, they follow it up with one of the most melodramatic, silly themed pretentious albums in music. I mean The Wall was cool when I was 13 because it was "deep". Now I just listen to it and laugh. It would actually be pretty decent if it was cut in half; nobody really wants to listen to Vera.

I'm not the one who put The Wall #1, it would probably be in my top 5 though, there are just too many songs I love on that album, and the ones I don't care about are usually very short and serve to connect 2 better songs

The Wall is one of the great musical works of the 20th century, every bit as important as Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, Benny Goodman's Sing, Sing, Sing, Glenn Miller's In The Mood, The Beatles' Sgt Pepper and Abbey Road, and even Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. The Wall is a nearly perfect album, and all these years later I still pull it out, marvel at its construction and agree with my old self that it still holds on to its power to this day. If you feel that it has weak moments, I challenge you to go deeper, and eventually you'll realize that the weakness was in you, not in the music.
