Hello! I'm trying to get to know classical. Can someon please post some essential albums? I know classical isn't really meant to be listened as albums, but I'm going to download the stuff on Soulseek and I guess it is better to know specific recordings, not just the names of the works.

If you are getting in to classical that is the shittiest way to start and will more likely put you off than engage you.

why?

do you have any recommendations?
>>
>>64281390
i agree. i would recomend you to start with beethoven symphonies, not with the piano sonatas. Yes i do like his piano sonatas, but come on...if you're a new listener you will most likely find them boring.

Where would one start with more modern stuff, like Stravinsky, Schoenberg, Bartok?
>>
I recommend Mozart's Requiem and his other chorus works

The Rite of Spring for Stravinsky, along with the Firebird.
>>
New listeners should start with more exciting stuff. I listened to a lot of Wagner, Tchaikovsky, and Brahms at first.

Listen to Mozart.
