sue me fag
I'm going to be buying my first electric guitar soon.
What would /gg/ recommend for a beginner?
Are these the best pedals being made in Japan right now?
>>64275928
I wanna try their overdrive
The only electric guitar I have is a telecaster. GAS hit recently for some guitar under a grand but the trouble is I don't know what guitar is worth getting to do what a telecaster can't do. It telecaster covers all of the bases reasonably well; good for jazz, good for punk, good for funk, good for rock and country. The only issues I have with mine are:
> weight (mine is pine)
> no vibrato
> not fantastic for jazz
> sticky neck
What guitar would cover the rest of these bases? Are strats good for jazz? Is a JM heavy? Is a 335 different enough from a tele in application to justify buying one? I don't like bigsbys
/gg/ is down
ok i want to build a telemaster
what color is best color?
How do I get better at improvising fast ascending and descending runs during solos? Not looking to do sweeps or anything crazy, just coherent flurries between passages.

>>64275959
Any other pedals with anime girls on them?
Not including the deviever hyperion
>>64276026
pitch black without pickguard
and put triple duncan distortions in it
What's up my fellow guitar enthusiasts?
This is my current set up:
Jackson DKMG
Vox wah wah
Ibanez tube screamer
Electro Harmonix big muff
I usually play through the PA when I go out and perform. Does anyone have any preference in the order of their pedals in terms of overdrive, distortion and wah wah?
>>64276051
Get a metronome and set it between 75-100 BPM. Play any scale (ascending and descending) over and over again starting with quarter notes, then go to 8th notes, triplets, 16ths, quintuplets...all the way to 32nds. You'll find yourself stuck at a point so then you keep working on that until you can get to the next speed.
It works wonders, believe me
>>64276051
Think about the note you are trying to land on and then ascend to that note, or descend. The note you start on is important but the note you end on is what really counts. Count how far away the two are and calculate it and go for it.
>>64276077
that sobbat is the only one i have with a girl on it, dwarfcraft devices used to have a very similar aesthetic to devi, and if you do a search on devi's old pedals you will probably find more
quick googlefu and i found this devi heroin lifestyle with a cute girl on it.
Power chords were a mistake.
>>64276192
Wow, that's actually a really simple and great approach.
>>64276077
this is a great circuit too
yikes
>>64275913
a squier
>>64275913
a guitar within your budget
Who else has a Bilt?
>>64275913
One of the more expensive squiers(classic vibe or vintage modified) if you want a les paul style i had no problem with a rondo Agile AL-xxxx
Are there any sites for technique and dexterity exercises for both fretting and picking hands? I want to move past strumming chords to more melodic playing.
they look really nice
the Bilt 12 string electric looks gooood. them gold foil pups
more i look at the lines the more i like em
>>64276474
They seem nice but I don't think I could spend that much on a what seems like a niche guitar. Is that built in fuzz/delay actually decent?
Anyone know if there are any sleeper Japanese gibson/fender copies out there. The nicer Tokai and Grecos seem to be creeping up in price.
anyanon's in australia played an aluminum necked Harvester? Love the aesthetic.
>>64276654
i love how the wood wraps around the aluminum
pretty nice
>>64276291
This one's neat
I'll check it out thanks
>>64276620
what do you mean by niche guitar?
i didn't even know they had built in effects lol
off to research
nice looking setneck Harvester with a pup behind the bridge too
>>64275928
Tell me more
anybody have guitars with built in effects?
Guys, can you recommend me any songs where it's mainly voice + an electric guitar?
Kind of like Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah.
I recently got an electric guitar and I'm getting bored of learning riffs.
>>64276291
BTW where can I get it with that ARF?
Looks like they changed designs a lot
I've always wanted to play an old VOX with the built in effects. That Repeater tremolo is legendary.
LIsten to Spaceman 3 for example of the VOX repeater effect as that was a big part of their sound
>>64276358
NOISE
Maybe not the tele style vol and tone controls
>>64276883
you should shoot Aen an email, or PM if you are on ILF. he would be best source of info
>>64276956
Thanks will do.
What's ilf?
>>64276809
they sound pretty pretty good. that one is incredibly harmonically dense, one of the richest sounding octave fuzz i own.
>>64276979
ilovefuzz.com
dwarfcraft has a forum there, and he also has a deviever forum as well since they own the name and are the one's building/selling them now.
there are lots of small time builders who have forums there and are active members of the community. really laid back place without any moderation
>>64276990
Cool, another pedal for my growing list of pedals to buy.
>>64276953
but i wanna Telemaster
fuck i wanna play it
You guys played an ACME 1484 head?
Really want to grab a Benson Tall Bird tubed spring reverb unit. sucks the prices just went up
>>64277324
think i like the look of this one better
Stop jacking off to each other's shitty gear and answer me.
>>64276523
>telecaster
>neck hum
>>64277610
Learn improvised solos and pick up on the patterns and phrases. Play what you hear. If you aren't sure what you are hearing then you need to brush up on your scales.
>>64277324
I'm trying to find one of these old Danelectro Spring Reverbs.
With effects pedals, what are the rules as far as what comes first in the chain or last? Or what should be ran through the loop or straight through the front?
Posting my strat so that people can talk shit about my CBS 70's headstock.
I like it though ;_;
>>64278320
best rule is that there are no rules. do whatever and use what sounds best to you.
>>64276566
I think I want one.
>>64278594
but them Burns Double Six play so nice, lookat Phil playing one....so cute
>>64278621
they sound so good fuzzed out as well
>>64278223
I wonder if that circuit is what this ACMEverb is based on?
>>64278791
What exercises did Elliot Smith do to play the way he does? What should I practice if I wanna play fingerpicking similar to Elliot?
>>64279328
Look up Travis Picking.
>>64278320
boost (compressor, wah, etc) -> overdrive/distortion
-> modulation (chorus/phaser/flanger) -> delay-> reverb
>>64279328
When Elliott strummed he would use his thumb going down and his fingertips coming back up.
Really though, it's all just finger picking which you just tend to learn on your own through practicing his music, so just play a shit ton of his music. Back when the official forums were up there was a collection of a ton of power tabs for his music, and that's how I learnt a majority of the guitar skills I have today.
>>64278364
I like the 70s headstock, don't know why people hate it so much.
>>64278364
>>64280606
Looks cute and funny for me. I suppose cute and funny is not what you want when you're a supercool rockstar who takes himself too seriously though.
>>64277127
Whoa
>>64276026
Candy Apples Red and Surf Green are equally cool. It comes down to preference though.
Stuck between a 1996 Gibson Les Paul Special in cherry red (if I get it I might refinish it to TV yellow) and a 2010 Gibson Les Paul Studio in worn red. Which should I get /gg/?
>>64276889
>>64276924
I assume one could get a similar sound by mixing a tremolo pedal and a short analog delay?
