in terms of innovation jai shits on neon indian. Don't get me wrong I like both but jai has bridged j dilla and prince - two huge influences on their respective genres - and still made it sound fresh

the ends will justify the means - too many artists output is determined by the record labels. Jai has been left to his own devices for years because XL trust him and know he is something special - Richard Russell and Rodaidh McDonald of XL have made it clear in interviews.
