I don't understand this comparison, it gets made a lot. When I went into this album I was expecting TMR levels of odd and Peter Brotzmann labels of wankery, instead I got a fairly quirky folk album. It's great and all but why does everyone think this is insanecore?

Chances are you're too far into "weird" music to see why some people see it the way they do. It's pitch-black subject matter without having the music be incredibly "hard" like metal does, and it sounds incredibly sinister. It sparks my imagination to some degree. I also think it's practically perfect and fucking jams.
To be clear, the comparison wasn't between Comus and Lovecraft, I just didn't have anything that fit it, and First Utterance fit a few of those.
