I find the glitched, hypnotic instrumentals and overall "cyber" theme in NOTM more conceptually compelling than the more organic, straightforward and hard hitting JD. Judging from Hot Head, BP might be a synthesis of those two aspects, however I'm certain we will all be surprised yet again. While records such as Exmilitary, TMS and NLDW paint a character, i feel that Ride real personality has began to bleed through in the content of the lyrics more and more. He's introverted, private and disturbed and the lyrics in NOTM perfectly express this. He is at odds with the world and the resulting anger manifested itself in JD. Either way, the music is becoming more and more about Stefan, and not "MC Ride".

Yes! But i also think that some of the one liners people have been dropping are the most vivid, scariest shit that i've seen Stefan conjure up. I also think that there is a loose narrative that can be seen in the lyrics to the new record; phrases are repeated, as are general themes of violence/sex and society/consumption. Generally the poetry seems to reflect a cyclical nature of desire, of the lengths gone to satisfy it and the ultimate churning and grinding of modernity. Trash epitomises his disgust at this cycle and the final track too, i.e. with the gross imagery

It's true. I saw MC Ride at a grocery store in Sacramento yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
