I don't think its depressing.
He did what he said he'd do. He was basically playing shows until he literally couldn't anymore, and he was hoping to die right there on stage. Lemmy lived way past what anyone expected him to, and exceeded what everyone expected of him.
I think it was pretty fucking badass. He even died playing his favourite video game.
