Maybe, I do think "I Know There's an Answer" and "Sloop John B" are the ones I want to listen to the most, and if you checked my Last FM it would confirm that I've listened to them probably 5 times more than "God Only Knows." I consider them pinnacle music.
"God Only Knows" is a masterpiece but in the scheme of my life, I much prefer "I Know There's an Answer." Can't explain why, not interested in doing so.

The reason is that the background music in those two songs is indescribably spiritual and beautiful to me, whereas the background music in "God Only Knows" is more of an accompaniment to the vocals and the song itself.
The two I mentioned have always felt more like this weird space music than pop.

I felt this way like 3 months ago and when i would ask every reply would be people just saying it's influences and shit, i thought everyone was pretending to think it was the best just because it was the first but then after a few listens i got it. Try listening to the instrumentation very carefully, try to listen to every sound as it's own and then feel how they mash together, listen to the vocals and then listen to the lyrics, they hit hard. It really is an amazing album but you gotta put a lot of attention into it to "get it"
