Dad-rock right now is guns n roses, twisted sister, motley crue, etc. nirvana and pearl jam probably could enter to. Radiohead, modest mouse, and NMH are more late 90s-early 00s bands. The people who enjoyed that as young adults would only be in their early 30s, and would have young children or no children. Dad-rock isn't Dad-rock until the kids are old enough to be embarrassed by their dad.
