seriously... how the fuck does anyone listen to country music, its the same stupid shit over and over, and none of it sounds good... seriously give me an explanation
>and don't give me any johnny cash, we both know that isnt country

I think its kinda fun
You've clearly never heard Jason Aldean - Old Boots New Dirt
The same reason people can stomach most top 40, nu metal, EDM, trap, radio hip-hop, 13 year old scene kid music etc.
They're plebs, sorry, there's no grandiose explanation.

this would be great if the singing wasnt so lame
yeah same with rap. I like everything except those two genres
Southerner here
I personally hate it but it admittedly goes well with the environment
a lot of older country is good, maybe it's just because i was sort of raised on it. my grandpa loved singing karaoke and we'd always sing stuff like george jones, conway twitty, loretta lynn, etc.
it was the highlight of my childhood desu.
i do agree, modern country is shit or maybe i don't have the same connection to it as i do with older country music.

Bro-country and country-pop are shit, but outlaw country and alt-country kick ass.
You have to grow up in the rural country where you live in a trailer and spend your team drinking beer and fishing.

my grandma ws from missouri, she exclusivly listens to old style country, i like to think of it like tea
>the old stuff is like fresh home brewed tea, its genuine and well made
>the stuff on the radio is mcdonalds ice tea, overly sweetened and mass produced dreck

A lot of old country is pretty cringe. Like Waylon Jennings pretending he's an old time outlaw cowboy when he's a rich white guy that was in a successful band before.
I really like country music because I can relate to alot of what they sing about. When I was a kid and my family would go to the Colorado River in Arizona all we would listen to was country and now I just associate country with good times.

All my family would listen to country and no matter how much I heard it I never liked it. It's like the musical equivalent of swimming in mud.
