Hi,

I would like to know /mu/'s opinion on this album. I enjoy it. Also, what other albums that could be labeled 'gothic rock' from the 80s would you recommend?

Thanks all,

I remember the last track being pretty good
And Flood being a better album

Nine While Nine is my favorite on this album.
I just discovered some other tracks from Andrew Eldritch (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX5cfMMM-LI) and I'm always amazed at how good it is the more I listen to it.

Also, you may like 69 eyes and Type-O Negative even though it's not exactly from the 80'

Any and all Fields of the Nephilim, Nosferatu if you don't mind cheesier content with more technical music.

Guitarist Wayne Hussey started The Mission UK, also a little cheesy, but very similar to F&L&A (even re-purposing a few guitar parts directly from it, most obviously the verse of "Marian")

Other guitarist Gary Marx started Ghost Dance with Skeletal Family singer Anne Marie Hurst. Far more poppy, but very good in its own right.

Bauhaus, especially Burning from the Inside and Sky's Gone Out.

On the other side of the pond, a couple of more obscure acts in a similar vein would be Like Wreckage and Screams for Tina. Ex Voto as well for something a little more restrained.

yes. very underrated band

also first and last is a good album but I much prefer floodland, mainly because of dominion and driven like the snow.

Rosetta Stone was kind of the beginning of the end for classic gothic rock, but heavily influenced by Sisters, and their good tracks are mighty good.
