Does a musician's behavior/beliefs affect your appreciation of his music or can you easily separate the man from his work?
I found it interesting that people are filling Afrika Bambaataa's videos on youtube with comments about how they can't enjoy his songs anymore after discovering he diddled kids. Is it weird to not care about this stuff?
honestly it depends on what they did
if it's something as severe as child molestation, then yes, i'm not going to listen to their music or support them. if it's something minor then ehhhh i don't really care

Unpopular opinion here, but I don't think child molestation is "all that bad".

I care about the art, not about the artist
I listen to Wagner even tho he was a nazi

He was an anti semite, not a nazi.

he wasn't a nazi tho
just hated the jews

He died six years before Hitler was even born, dude.

child molestation is literally something minor ;^)
I don't even do drugs but I dislike the straight edge movement because it's largely just another way for people who abstain to look down on others.
Regardless I still love a lot of straight edge punk music.

afrika sucked before everyone found out about his crimes and now he sucks even more

i really couldn't care less unless the beliefs intrude as annoying rants in the music, like racist mantras or genocidal rhetoric
planet rock is still a good song
he should rot in hell though

>annoying rants
I can never ever listen to a gay child molester in good conscience so yeah it does.
