The Beach Boys comparison is warranted to some extent. The other artists are not, especially TVU.
generally a discussion about The Beatles will, at some point, involve someone saying or at least implying that they were among the most significant musicians of their era or of all time
in the former case, co-existing in that era is the only thing that those bands require to be compared, and obviously in the latter case you can compare literally anyone as long as you've got a convincing case for it

It's kind of funny how hating the Beatles has become a meme
The fact that so many music fans still name Piero Scaruffi as "the deepest or most insightful" musical critic ever only tells you how far music criticism still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz criticism has long agreed on the greatest jazz critics of all time, who were not the most read or shared or retweeted of their times, let alone of all times. Classical criticism ranks the highly controversial relativist ennui over the blissful elitism highly popular in universities around Europe. Fans of rock critics are still blinded by follower counts. Piero Scaruffi is followed by more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore he must be the greatest. Fans of jazz critics grow up reading a lot of jazz criticism of the past, fans of classical critics grow up reading to a lot of classical criticism of the past. Fans of rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock criticism of the past, they barely know Christgau. No wonder they will think that Piero Scaruffi did anything worthy of being saved.
