Is vaporwave still a thing? I just got into it and I realize I'm late to the party. Recommend me some?

Right it's a mess, one of the main producers of Vaporwave, HKE, took down many albums froms his label dream Catalogue, the most influential label in the comunity, that fall in the category of Vaporwave, and called the fans and other producers retardeds and throw a lot of shit to everyone. It might be dying or its just going to be a resurrection
try this op
also if you haven't heard the big three classics (floral shoppe, eccojams, hit vibes) you should really get on that
>>64181079
>Saint Pepsi ever being a """classic"""
>>64181100
it absolutely is a classic
kickstarted future funk the same way floral shoppe kickstarted vaporwave
>>64181077
deaths dynamic shroud.wmv also seemed to remove Ill Try Living Like This, wonder why
>>64181108
but futurefunk is the most cancerous thing to spawn from vape music

>>64181121
maybe if you hate fun
sure there's lots of awful boring future funk out there, but there's definitely some good
T e l e p a t h & nmeshs colab was pretty good and I would recommend it as an intro to ambient/vaporwave
>>64181077
Interest may fade over time but it won't ever truly die

Arguably the most underrated Vaporwave album.
>>64181132
yeah there are some good, the original songs that future funk takes and does nothing with but loop. JUST LISTEN TO THE ORIGINAL. at least vaporwave makes something new out of the songs it samples. i want to know what those good tracks you're talking about are can you enlighten me?
>>64181281
def not underrated, its seen as one of the classic archetypical albums in the genre
>>64181200
that's what we call the death of a genre you imbecile
then again vaporwave was never a genre to begin with it was a meme
>>64181122
LMAO I didnt actually even know the gif in OP had been used in some vaporwave release but I'm not even surprised
Ugh I've had that one song in Floral Shoppe stuck in my head for days now
Eccojam A3 is objectively the only good vaporwave song (and one of the best tracks of the last decade)
>>64182788
>it was a meme
>still believing this
>still believing vaporwave is going anywhere or "Dead"
Have you followed visual artists these days? Music videos? Electronic music? Vaporwave as a term is bad and too vague, but the impact and influence from the birth of vaporwave is here to stay. It is already very obvious if you look at art being made right now.
>>64184220
yeah memes have a wide sphere of influence it doesn't make them musical genres
>>64184233
maybe read the definition for the word "genre" before posting again
>>64182760
here are some:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCHpPOQcTPA
https://kyonpalm.bandcamp.com/track/--2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esKfJoPInO0
also, it isn't essential to me that much is done to the original -- if it sounds better then i like it
but i can see why it would be important to other people
>>64184067
yeah you can find a future funk release with pretty much any old anime you can think of on the cover
there are still amazing vaporwave albums being made if you just know where to look

>>64180925
the only vaporwave release that stuck with me past the week that i enjoyed it was
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbRP9VAgRAw
/mu/ should have a vaporwave general where people post tunes instead of debating is it a dead genre or a genre at all
anyone with me?
>>64184449
those can totally happen
i helped get that kind of thing going last summer
make a thread anon
>>64184484
>>64184449
Well we have this thread rn?
>This gif and what >>64184324 posted
>>64184171
>not A4
>old op catchphrase
"your daily favorite dystopian rump-of-the-century ironic/post-ironic neon/pastel aesthetic/music thread... today."
>>64184559

can somebody red pill/spoonfeed me why yung bae is hated by people for reasons other than his music?
can somebody red pill/spoonfeed me why cassettes are a thing now apparently?
>>64185049
people mostly just hate him because most of the time he hardly changes the songs he samples to make them his own
>>64185049
>>64185107
why did you make these posts
can somebody pill me and spoon me?
>>64185107
nostalgia related to vaporwave aesthetic + novelty
>>64185138
I bet this is the same autist who made that cassette thread yesterday and refused to understand any points people were trying to make
>>64185187
dont know what thread you mean, but i'll give him the benefit of the doubt
it can't hurt
can somebody feed me red pills with a spoon?
>>64185265
btw I called you out on futurefunk being shit earlier but youre actually pretty cool so im sorry
>>64185350
i appreciate that anon
take it easy
>>64185400
I guess I take issue with artist in these genres who ask for money when they make their albums. It just bothers me a little when some songs have been barely changed from the originals.
I dont really mind when artist put their stuff up for free on bandcamp
start with the record label Beer on the Rug and move on from there
