i think it's that very first part of transition that kills it for me. it starts strong and ends strong, but the "if i if i if i" part is a bit tedious imo.

These and Spirit are my two favorite albums.
You are right about the romanticizing, but part of the reason I love both is because they each capture lightning in a bottle and you'll never hear an album exactly like them again.

Seriously though, I thought STGSTV wasn't that good until recently and now it's clicked and it really is in their top albums. Certainly not their best, but definitely up there.

Feels is better than STG. Like I said, STG is still in the good category. It's not like the album doesn't make sense to me. I like a lot of ideas on it, I just think the production is clearly terrible which renders the entire thing less vivid and dynamic than much of their discography, a lot of the songs end up redundant by the end of the track not only because of the repetition, but because of the way that repetition is used, and in general the songwriting just isn't as good as their best work.
