ITT: Albums with no bad songs.
You first op
>>64160330
I don't know, I could argue their are some rough songs on London Calling. It is a 19 song album though. It's not like it couldn't have no bad songs if it wanted too.
>>64160348
Name one bad song from London Calling.
>>64160330
London Calling has many worthless tracks, would be improved by cutting it down to 35 minutes or so
surprisingly hard to think of albums with 8+ tracks that are all really good, even the most solid ones I can think of like Springsteen's Born to Run or Stooges' Raw Power or The Beatles' Revolver or Black Sabbath's Paranoid have something mediocre
Maybe Yes' Close to the Edge could be my pick if you ignore all the whole-album-is-one-song ones where it's easier to have "no bad songs", but a three track album feels like cheating
Jimmy jazz is terrible
>>64160497
Pleb spotted
>>64160416
jimmy jazz
>>64160416
I don't know...
Doesn't feel that hard to think of albums that have no worse tracks than something like Hateful, Death or Glory, Koka Kola, The Card Cheat, Four Horsemen or I'm Not Down. There are some really forgettable tracks on there in those 19.
I certainly think that London Calling has a lot of mediocre filler even though I think it's an absolutely classic album.
>>64160473
The only worthless songs on London Calling are Four Horsemen, I'm Not Down and Jimmy Jazz.
It would be too easy to post something like Spiderland or Wish You Were Here, so here you go.
>>64160553

London Calling is perfect. Admittedly, when I was 16 or 17 and got it I was hugely disappointed. I wanted punk rock. It definitely grew on me and I think it's a masterpiece now.
>>64160330
>>64160686
honestly I have to agree, and the production doesn't really bother me
There are lots of albums with no bad songs, so I picked something that maybe less of you have heard of
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eodPnspS7GI
>>64160737
Has some weak points, but I can definitely agree
>>64160793
Lol
>>64160738
Most people don't like London Calling because of the ska/reggae influence. I actually love ska (not a lot of good ska around sadly) and it was really well done in the album which is why I like it so much
>>64160534
agreed
This is one of my favorite records of all time based on just how even it is in terms of quality - no big high points or hit singles above others, but it just keeps flowing so damn nicely that you just want to listen to it all the way through and learn to love all the transitions
One of the rare albums I wouldn't want any changes to.
a good jazz album feels like cheating
yeah it's posted a lot, but there isn't a bad song on here honestly

Good picks
This one is pretty good - Sweet Bird I could do without, but it's not "bad". Anything apart from that is really memorable imho.
this album's a pretty damn even fucker, but about half of it pales in comparison to the other half so some tracks feel lackluster - Wholy Holy being the worst offender
it still kicks the ass of almost any soul album that came before it (or indeed after it) in terms of being a great album with every track being meaningful pretty handily

Don't lie to yourself to make it seem like you get it; Femme Fatale, Venus in Furs, ATP and I'll be your Mirror aren't very good at all
>>64164394
Shitting on all the Nico tracks is one thing but
>Venus In Furs
Hell naw, that's in the running with Heroin for the album's best.
>>64164450
They aren't "bad" but I've never been too fond of Lucky or The Tourist. I definitely see them as lesser compared to the rest of the album.
>>64164056
Even Floyd themselves admitted they weren't great tracks.
>>64164469
Yah, I don't think Nico added anything to the album. To be honest I don't think it's even close to being 10/10, just not really my thing.
The best track is I'm Waiting for My Man m8y
>>64164495
The Tourist isn't a great song, but the lyrics are good and it's a good closer
>>64164565
Waiting for the Man's actually my "least favorite" on the album. Still good, I just like all the other tracks more.

a bold play, but it is certainly one of the most even Zappa albums
for some reason the more time goes on, the more I like every god damn track of pic related - it just fills me with glee and the combination of comedy, Stravinsky quotes, general weirdness, social commentary and catchiness works great for me

there are actually a lot of songs on Songs In The Key Of Life that I find less good than the rest - still one of the greatest soul albums of all time and pretty much the pinnacle of classic soul in the genre generally taking a turn for the worse after it

This and London Calling do not have a bad one in the bunch.
You guys have a really distorted definition of "bad". The worst songs on London Calling (I'm Not Down, Four Horsemen, Lovers Rock) are like a 6/10. That's average, not bad. Therefore this album has no bad songs, just a weak filler spot.
